This softly-rounded, dark-brown-clay teacup is coated with a lovely milky glaze in a tranquil light turquoise hue. The numerous light and dark colored ‘flecks’ present in the glaze give the cup a textured look to the eye, but the surface of the cup is actually completely smooth to the touch. The overall effect is not unlike the appearance of a gauzily-clouded western sky at mid-day or several of the vein-specific turquoises that are ever popular, especially for squash blossom necklaces.
This is a handmade item – slight variations in the painting, colors, tooling, patterning and kiln effects of Chinese and Japanese tea wares are to be expected. We have carefully photographed this item as best as possible – please be aware that different device screens can render colors and subtle tones slightly differently.
