Such charming teacups – one can almost see these grasses blowing gently in the breeze. The grey clay has a very faint wash of thin white glaze applied to the front of the teacup and the white grasses are painted in thick white glaze. These teacups are rustic yet elegant, respecting the graceful state of nature and natural places.
They are perfect vessels for drinking fresh sencha green tea or toasty kukicha. Rippling lines placed around the diameter of the cups draw the eye from the rim to the foot ring and add a sense of motion to the cups.
This is a handmade item – slight variations in the painting, colors, tooling, patterning and kiln effects of Chinese and Japanese teawares are to be expected. We have carefully photographed this item as best as possible – please be aware that different device screens can render colors and subtle tones slightly differently.
