This teapot has an elegant elegant shape and a soothing, earthy honey-brown glaze. The smooth, gleaming surface of the teapot may seem plain at first glance but this effect is more difficult to achieve than one might think. This teapot is by Tatsuhiro, who has fit the teapot with a clay ball strainer.
Tatsuhiro’s signature is a punched-out design that resembles a tiny cluster of grapes with a stem that he fashions into all of his teapot lids. The design allows steam from the heated water/tea to escape while adding a clever design element to the teapot.
This is a handmade item – slight variations in the painting, colors, tooling, patterning and kiln effects of Chinese and Japanese tea wares are to be expected. We have carefully photographed this item as best as possible – please be aware that different device screens can render colors and subtle tones slightly differently.
