This is a lovely cylindrical teacup, glazed in an eye-catching shade of green with speckles of blue throughout. This speckling effect, known as variegation, is most noticeable around the cup’s rim, the point at which the two colors appear to simultaneously pull apart from and flow into one another. The cup’s slightly recessed footring is beautifully highlighted by a narrow band of semi-gloss brown glaze.
This cup is hefty, durable and will hold heat well, thanks to its thick walls.
Slight variations in the painting, colors, tooling, patterning and kiln effects of Chinese and Japanese tea wares are to be expected. We have carefully photographed this item as best as possible – please be aware that different device screens can render colors and subtle tones slightly differently.
